News PlayStation 6 PS6 PS6 Handheld Specs Sony Hardware insider Kepler_2 has provided updated specs for the long-rumoured PS6 handheld , which Sony is reportedly looking to release alongside its next-generation console whenever it finally sees the light of day. The updated specs are as follows: 6x AMD CPU cores (4x Zen 6c + 2x Zen 6 LP) 16x RDNA 5 (UDNA) graphics compute units 24GB LPDDR5X memory on a 192-bit bus A TDP range from 15 to 25W Kepler_L2 recently stated in a post on NeoGAF that “ $600 is definitely not possible right now” as far as the price is concerned for the handheld, noting the increased price of LPDDR memory. Ex-PlayStation boss Shawn Layden also recently touched on the rumoured PS6 handheld device , noting that the format holder has traditionally struggled when it comes to juggling two pieces of hardware.
Back in August 2025, fellow hardware tipster Moore’s Law Is Dead provided details on the PS6 portable companion , dubbed Canis, claiming it was due to launch in fall 2027 — early 2028 alongside the PS6. He also claimed that the handheld would support backwards compatibility with PS4 and PS5 generations, a MicroSD slot, M.2 SSD slot, Haptic Vibration, Dual Mics and a Touchscreen.
